Article VII: Coaches

A. PROTESTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!
B.  Coaches will be responsible for their own team and actions of their fans.  Each Coach is allowed only ONE assistant coach.  Each coach is required to talk to their team’s parents for cooperation in keeping these games for the KIDS!
C. Any coach stepping on the playing floor during game action or leaving their own team’s area to protest officials’ calls, will be given a technical foul.  All fouls on coaches will be automatic 2 points plus possession of the ball to the opposing team.  One temper technical foul on a coach will stop the game and forfeit the game to the opposing team.  The coach will be dismissed on one technical foul and will have to answer to the Board of Directors before being allowed to coach any future games.
D. Coaches’ technical fouls count as a team foul.
E. Bench technical fouls count as a team foul.
F.  Score sheets must be filled out 15 minutes before game time. Starters must be listed 5 minutes before the game.  Score sheets must be left at the gym.
G.  The first team listed on the schedule is the home team. The home team is required to furnish a scorekeeper.  The visiting team is required to furnish a timekeeper.
H.     Please list both first and last names of players on the score sheet.
I.   Please remember, during games and turnouts you are acting as a representative of the league and conduct your actions accordingly.
J. There will be no Sunday turnouts and no team turnouts during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  There will be no team turnouts on a day when school is not in session.  No turnouts are allowed during tournament week.  Each team is allowed a maximum of two hours per week for turnout.  Any scrimmage games are to count as part of your turnout time.  IT IS STRICTLY AGAINST LEAGUE RULES TO GO ANYWHERE OTHER THAN YOUR ASSIGNED GYM FOR TURNOUTS.
K. No coach, player, or parent shall incite any disruptive behavior of any kind.
L. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of each coach to maintain proper spectator conduct.  Coaches shall be held primarily responsible for the conduct of their parents and spectators.  At no time shall foul or abusive language be permitted to a referee or youngster.
M. The Board of Directors urges all coaches to communicate with their parents before and during the course of the season. By involving the parent as part of the team, you will reduce the chance of misunderstandings and problems.
O. Please remember that our program depends solely on your ability to get along with the schools. At this time our relationship is good, but we must continue to maintain this relationship if our program is to succeed.  Please police your gyms after turnouts and pick up litter and make sure your team members are out of the gym.
P. Coaches are permitted to provide direction to their team from the sidelines as long as it is to their own team on points of strategy, positioning, encouragement, and support.  It is hoped that the tone of voice will be informative and NOT CRITICAL OR OFFENSIVE.
